13 Days Guided Cultural Discovery and Adventure Holidays of Togo and Benin_it

Day 1: You are met upon arrival at the lomé–tokoin international airport by your local guide and transfered to your hotel .
For travelers arriving from Accra , Ghana you will be assisted upon arrival in Accra and depending upon your flight arrival time you will be transferred by road to Lome . Your local guide will assist you with your guide hotel check in . After check- in, there will be self introduction and briefing of the itinerary for the next few days
Day 2 : Visit to market and museum
Accompanied by your local expert guide and driver , you head to Kara north of Togo.The drive will be long .A stop over is made at Sokode where you visit the market. Sokode is a commercial center ,Continue the the journey until arrival at Kara the second more big city of Togo is situated at the heart of the Kabyè.
Day 3 : City and sight seeing tour
You have a city tour to discover the people ,their history and their city. you will not miss the seeing the breath taking views of Mountain Kabye .
Day 4 : Traveling to savannah area with breathtaking views
You will depart from your hotel and travel to a contrasting landscape of savannah surrounding a small locality , which is very peaceful ,and tucked away from the city atmosphere .upon arrival at your rustic camp located at the foot hills of surrounding mountains , you will be welcomed by your friendly host.
Day 5 : Discovery of caves ,and » soukals » the traditional village homes
Wake up in the morning observing monkeys who have fun on the hills near the camp. You will visit the Nano caves and « Soukalas » the traditional village homes made of adobe shape and constructed with clay and predominately found in the savannah region. .Your visit taken you to the a traditional cemetery and the shrines of Moba.
Having learnt and seen so much of the locals culture , you will top it up with a demonstration of the preparation of tchouk, a local beer made with maize, which you can taste.
Day 6 : Border crossing and safari drive
Depart for Natitingou crossing of the border Togo-Benin Your local guide will assist you with customs and police formalities. Continue the route to the Pendjari National Park, Biosphere Reserve .Upon arrival at the national park you check in at the camp of the Park .You will take a late after noon safari drive .The park has elephants ,buffaloes hippos , lions birds .
Day 7 : Game drive and swimming at a waterfall and local interaction .
Early morning you take game drive and there after you continue to a waterfall at Tanougo for a well deserved swim . Accompanied by your local expert guide you continue the route until Koussoukoingou which forms part of the Atakora mountain Chain. The scerney is breataking and there is plenty opportunites for photography. Your hosts are locals from the area
Day 8 : Visit and face to face interaction with tambermas of Koutammakou world heritage cultural landscape villages
Today is your last day in the north of Benin. You will pay a visit to the village again to interact and meet with the inhabitants and the members of the association you met with yesterday .After you say good by to your friends . your route will take you to the Togo – Benin border You continue your journey to the valley of Tambermas, called Koutammakou and classified since 2004 in the UNESCO world heritage as cultural and natural landscape. You will interact with the locals and learn in depth about their culture and the relationship of their environment to spiritualism . The experience of seeing a unique living culture again similar to that of the tata somba of benin will be awesome and a once in life time experience ,.
Day 9 : Cultural discovery of metallurgical trade of the ,and skillful black smiths of Bassar region
This morning you depart to Bassar where the inhabitants are considered as being skillful in black smiths Visit their blast furnaces built in clay and fired with wood . The black smiths still use the same production processes of ancient times . There will be more visits including a visit to some traditional small scale farms in the area where the farming implements used have been the same .Here you will have the opportunity to interact with the farmers to learn about their methods of farming .pottery is a common artisan activity in the region , you will visit a traditional pottery center ,and you will see pottery being made with clay still using old fashion ways,
Day 10 : You will be traveling further south to the region of the lush green forest .
Today your route will be towards the south . You will move to Kpalimé , region of the lush green forests with breathtaking scenery , water falls , rivers ,mountains and artisinal activities .on your way to kpalime you will stop en-route for lunch . upon arrival and check in to your accommodation ,the rest of the day is free for you to relax and enjoy the sceneray , peace and tranquil of your accommodation .
Day 11 : Departure for the lovely African dream mountainous village Kouma Konda
A village of Kloto for or a botanical walk and swim in the water falls .
Day 12 : Trekking to villages and traditional evening music and dance
You start your day trekking from one village to another in the area of Mount Agou with its beautiful and breath taking landscapes . You will discover several villages, passing through cocoa and coffee farms , you will see how the locals pursue the daily lives The villages are located at the foot or perched on the side of the Mount Agou .
The trek will take 6 hours with moderate walking In the evening you will be entertained with African music and dances , joint hem and have fun
Day 13 : Last Day in Kpalime
Today being your last day in Kpalime , you will have the opportunity to take a City tour of Kpalimé- purase some souvenirs when you visit the local craftsmen . After you depart to Lome for your on ward flight
